Sand Scorpions $5K Bounty Hole & Freestyle Mud Trucks

The Colville Fuels Half-Sun Travel Plaza Bounty Hole & Freestyle Mud Trucks event powered by Grease Heads Lube & Oil was the craziest yet. Despite the rain, 10 top of the line mud trucks and thousands of awesome fans made the off road trek to this one of a kind event.

Labor Day Weekend Team Mud Bogs was a great success! We had enough participants(30 rigs) to run two, 5-team events! First 5 teams all brought their own friends to form a team, second set of 5 teams all drew their teammates out of a hat! 31st Anniversary Party

Despite 4" of new snow and below freezing temps, over 100 Sand Scorpion members turned out for our Anniversary Party! Coolest part is, this was the first time we've ever hosted the party outdoors and off-road! 

January Fun Run

Forty Jeeps, quads, pick-ups, buggies and bikes lined up Saturday at the Moses Lake Mud Flats and Sand Dunes for the Sand Scorpions ORV Group’s first fun run of the year.

31st Annual Christmas Tree Burn

On New Year’s Day, diesel engines quaked across the cookies and cream terrain of snow on the Moses Lake Sand Dunes, as pickups, Jeeps and ORVs pulled up to turn the casual holiday to a sort of “Mad Max” movie.

That was the vision when Rich Archer, Lyle Laves and Randy Radach started the Sand Scorpions Christmas Tree Burn in 1990. They brought out their trees, their rigs and their families and had a fire.

New Year's fireworks sales triple at local stand

Everyone is so irritated about 2020, they just want to go and blow everything up,” said Rich Archer, one of the founders of the Sand Scorpions ORV Group, which sells fireworks throughout Grant County.

In a normal winter, they sell 24,000 fireworks for New Year’s Eve, he said. But, this year, they sold 74,000 in the parking lot of Airway Deli Mart (5053 Airway Drive NE).

2020 $5k Bounty Hole & Freestyle Mud Trucks

The smoke cleared just in time for a Bounty Hole that was on FIRE!!! Sept. 19th, 2020 marked the 10th annual Bounty Hole & Freestyle Mud Trucks powered by MountainView Polaris in Moses Lake. We had a record crowd who helped fuel record sales for us and other vendors! 12 of some of the biggest, baddest or fastest trucks in the PNW showed up to battle it out for $5K in the Bounty Hole & $1k for the Freestyle Bad Ass Award.
